Requirements to qualify? *1. The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the<br /> District of Columbia, who are: (1) at least 18 years of age, and (2)<br /> minority students enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university<br /> in the United States, and (3) have a minimum 2.50 GPA.2. Entries must be<br /> from individuals only; groups, organizations and multiple-party entries are<br /> not eligible. The Contest is governed by United States law and is subject<br /> to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.*
Selection criteria among applicants CRITERIA: (This is how entries are judged):<br /> 1. *Essay must be submitted with the application, which should include the authors name, address, phone number, email address, college (including the date of graduation), and student ID number.*<br /> 2. *All entries must be typed, double-spaced, and saved as a Word Doc or PDF.*<br /> 3. *Do not add pictures or graphics*<br /> 4. *Essays that do not meet the word count requirement will be eliminated. (The essay title or added references / footnotes do not contribute to the total word count.)*<br /> 5. *A contestants teacher, counselor, or parent may check the essay for punctuation, grammar, and/or spelling, but the essay MUST BE the original work of the student making the submission.*<br /> 6. *Contestants will be judged based solely on their essay.*
