Purpose for the scholarship To provide schureman scholarship program.
Requirements to qualify? Applicants must be residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lenawee, Monroe, Livingston, Washtenaw, or St. Clair counties at the time of high school graduation; must demonstrate strong scholastic performance while in high school or college with an equivalent of a 3.0 grade point average; must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree in the fields of law, nursing, medicine or dentistry; candidates must apply to or be admitted to one of the 15 nonprofit, public universities in Michigan as a full-time student; full-time enrollment at one of these 15 educational institutions is required.
Selection criteria among applicants Applicants will be evaluated based on demonstrate leadership and character through extracurricular activities, service in school and community, volunteer involvement and paid work experience; candidates between the ages of 17-27 at the time of application and to those pursuing full-time education; must demonstrate financial need.
