Purpose for the scholarship
To provide financial support to students involved in team sports who intend to pursue careers in public safety.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicant must be a Vermont resident and current high school senior seeking an undergraduate degree or non-degree certificate in public safety, including but not limited to, emergency medical services, fire service, health care, or law enforcement; must be enrolled at least half-time and face significant barriers or obstacles that limit access to post-secondary education; must demonstrate financial need, school and community involvement, and a strong education/work ethic; must attend an educational institution in Vermont that is approved for federal Title IV funding.

Selection is based on financial need, recommendation letters, and essay.
