Purpose for the scholarship
To encourage diversity in medicine and alleviates debt, and reward commitment to the elimination of healthcare disparities, outstanding academic achievements, leadership activities and community involvement.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be current first or second year students and permanent residents or citizens of the U.S. They must also be African Americans, American Indians, Native Americans, Alaska Natives or Hispanics/Latinos.

Selection criteria among applicants
Selection will be based on the applicant’s academic standing.
