Limitations of practice refer to certain boundaries that NPs have in several states. These limitations are either in the form of restricted practice or reduced practice. In restricted practice, NPs can only perform at least one of their roles under the supervision of a physician. Under the reduced practice, NPs are barred from performing at least one role with or without supervision. These practices affect the job satisfaction of NPs and, more importantly, reduce access to healthcare in the concerned states. Thankfully, Vermont is a Full Practice state, and there are no such restrictions.
